FAQ about Catman Issue One

(Click questions to reveal answers.)

How is performance?
We’re not going to lie. This app pushes the hardware to the hilt. The good news is that the app loads different versions of the game depending on the generation of your device, so hopefully you’ll have an enjoyable experience no matter which gen you play on. Keep us posted. Let us know if you want us to slim down the “low-end” version even more.
Just one level?
True, Catman Issue One is a single level. A single large, unique level which is different every time you play due to the random placement of the bonus targets. Catman Issue One is also built with a different concept in mind than most games, and is meant to be as rich an experience as possible in a single load.
What is with all the contemporary references made in the game?
We think that Catman Issue One is an evolution of the comic book. Historically, comic books have made a lot of cultural commentary within their 4 color halftone process. Comic books reflected their moment in time through editorial veiled with spandex and super-heroic bluster. Catman Issue One does the same. Plus, we at Fulltilt are geeks in the biggest sense of the word. We grew up with comic books, love video games, have had a go at numerous pen and paper role-playing games, played WoW, listen to podcasts, read blogs... so the game is us, reflecting comics, which in turn reflect today’s culture.

In other words, we dig this stuff.
Will there be an update?
We have several things in mind with regard to an update, but would first like to get a feel from our users. If a stability or performance update is required, that would take precedence over more cool stuff.
“...loads different versions”, what does that mean?
Catman Issue One is a demanding app, to say the least. It has a large skinned and animated character, extensive ragdoll physics, tons of dynamic objects, a huge soundtrack, and more. In our testing, the iPhone 3GS handled the requirements dramatically better. Since we didn’t want to bring the 3GS down to the baseline, we kept it loaded, and made a slimmer, yet still awesome, version for earlier devices. The good news is that the app you purchase has both versions built in, so when you upgrade your hardware, the game will automatically play the 3GS (or later) version. You can’t lose!
